Recession! (The Musical) – Opening Night

Last night we were able to be in Perishable Theatre for a tech run, and the cast expanded visibly in the space. It was amazing to see their performances grow in size, to hear the music fill the room, and to see them dashing madly to find foley props in time for their cues. We had a few guests in the audience, and it reminded us that people will be laughing and clapping in places we might not expect.

Today we’ve been running around making music CDs, buying produce (how can you do a radio play without a cabbage and a sack of potatoes?), and making last minute adjustments to the script. We’ve also been fielding a lot of reservation requests – people keep adding friends who want to come along.

Tonight we are meeting early for some brush up rehearsal, and then we’ll relax and get some late dinner at the Tacqueria before the show. Nothing like an 11 pm curtain time! I can’t wait to hear what the audience thinks.
