Press Release – Elemental’s Go.Go Plays

This year’s production, the father, the son and the holy go.go, draws its title from the seven Catholic Sacraments, which were randomly assigned to the three playwrights. The playwrights used their chosen sacraments to inform the plays as they wrote them, and were given the additional challenge of setting the plays in a common location. The setting, chosen at random from a hat full of suggestions, was a cabin.

Elemental Theatre Collective is proud to present its fourth annual original short play festival at Perishable Theatre. This year’s collection is entitled “the father, the son and the holy go.go,” and features new plays by George Brant, Alexander Platt, and Dave Rabinow.

Recession! (The Musical) – Opening Night

Last night we were able to be in Perishable Theatre for a tech run, and the cast expanded visibly in the space. It was amazing to see their performances grow in size, to hear the music fill the room, and to see them dashing madly to find foley props in time for their cues.

Elemental Theatre Collective is prepared to address the economic crisis in the only manner it can possibly be adequately dealt with: the late-night musical sci-fi radio play. Recession (The Musical) offers theatergoers the chance to finally see what happens when free market capitalism, time machines, and catchy tunes are allowed to run amok.

deca.go.go: The Exquisite Corpse plays begin January 22

A crumbling, ramshackle building in the southwest corner of Paris was slated for destruction. In the course of its demolition, a hidden section of its moldering basement was discovered. Inside was a cot with long-fouled bedding, a small tin teapot, and some twenty-odd empty absinthe bottles.
