The night before the opening of Recession! (The Musical). Calm has mostly set in. There’s something dangerously comforting about performing a piece with a script in front of you.
Elemental Theatre Collective is prepared to address the economic crisis in the only manner it can possibly be adequately dealt with: the late-night musical sci-fi radio play. Recession (The Musical) offers theatergoers the chance to finally see what happens when free market capitalism, time machines, and catchy tunes are allowed to run amok.
Tonight the whole cast assembled to start learning the music of Recession! (The Musical).
Sitting amidst the remains of burritos from Tacqueria Pacifica and mugs of Lapsang Souchon – which, according to Kevin, smells like Band Aids – we made our way through the six songs that Dave and Peter have written for the show.
